AND ITINERARY GUIDE

Rome's museums

Located between Santa Maria Maggiore Square and San Giovanni (two of the 4 papal basilicas of Rome), crossing the Oppian Hill Park (where the entrance to the recently inaugurated DOMUS AUREA is located), we find the Colosseum (10 minutes walk).

From here, a journey through millennia of history begins, including the CAPITOLINE MUSEUMS, IMPERIAL FORUMS, CIRCUS MAXIMUS, an obligatory brief PIT STOP at the MOUTH OF TRUTH, and VENICE SQUARE.

It's impossible not to visit the PANTHEON and the historic centre area, which takes you from the romantic TREVI FOUNTAIN to the majestic SPANISH STEPS.

Starting from our location, a 2-minute walk will take you to the entrance of the red Metro Line A, where in 20 minutes you'll reach the OTTAVIANO stop for the VATICAN MUSEUMS and to visit the famous CASTEL SANT'ANGELO.

For those staying longer, we recommend visiting the DOMITILLA CATACOMBS, AQUEDUCTS PARK, and PAOLA FOUNTAIN.

Rome by bike

The cycle paths in Rome are expanding more and more, making the Italian capital one of the most bike-friendly cities in Europe. There are over 140 km of dedicated bicycle paths and many other road sections shared with pedestrians.

The Central Lodge Hotel Roma offers a bike-sharing service for its guests, giving them the opportunity to explore the city on two wheels comfortably and sustainably. Alternatively, bikes can be rented at one of the many rental points in the city.

Among the most beautiful and famous cycle paths in Rome are certainly those along the Tiber River, offering a charming view of the city's monuments and attractions. Moreover, many of Rome's parks and historic villas are easily accessible by bike. In addition to the cycle paths, there are also many minor roads and hidden corners of Rome that can only be discovered by bike. Thanks to the bike-sharing service of the Central Lodge Hotel Roma, guests have the opportunity to explore the city in a unique and original way.

Sightseeing in Rome

Many outdoor activities are recommended not only in the centre of Rome but also in the southern part. Excursions, visits, places to see.

In the south, we find the area known as the Castelli, ancient villages, stately villas, medieval castles, and archaeological remains animate the Regional Park of the Castelli Romani, in the province of Rome. Spread over the Alban Hills, in the past, it was the favourite holiday destination for the noble families of the capital and the popes. Today, with its 9,500 hectares of protected territory, it hosts numerous animal species, such as badgers, pine martens, peregrine falcons, hedgehogs, and above all the wolf, which plays a fundamental role in this ecosystem.

Fifteen municipalities are part of the Castelli Romani Park area, but to have a comprehensive view of the area, it's enough to take a tour touching at least six of them.

Starting from Lanuvio, GENZANO, ARICCIA, CASTEL GANDOLFO, ALBANO LAZIALE, FRASCATI

Roman sunsets

There are many characteristic places in Rome where you can enjoy the sunset hour and the suggestion of the city's panoramas and views (such as Pincio).

"If I were dead and buried and your voice reached me, even in the cold of the grave, my heart would tremble." Quotation from the movie Roman Holiday.

Shopping in Rome

A trip to Rome is always an exciting experience, even for shopping enthusiasts. The Italian capital is famous not only for its monuments and millennia-old history but also for its streets full of fashionable shops and characteristic markets. If you're looking for a shopping holiday, Rome is definitely the perfect place for you.

One of the most famous shopping streets in Rome is Via del Corso, which connects Piazza del Popolo with Piazza Venezia. Here you will find numerous clothing stores, jewellery shops, and accessories from the most important Italian and international brands. Along the street, you can also admire some of Rome's most beautiful monuments, such as the Pantheon and Palazzo Chigi.

Another very famous street is Via Condotti, located near Piazza di Spagna. Here you will find boutiques and high-fashion stores, perfect for luxury shopping. Don't forget to stop by Barcaccia, the famous boat-shaped fountain located right in Piazza di Spagna.

If you're looking for a more characteristic and authentic atmosphere, we recommend visiting Campo dei Fiori. In addition to being a popular outdoor market for locals, here you can also find craft shops and souvenirs. The Monti district is especially popular for vintage lovers, and Cola di Rienzo in the Prati area. Rome is teeming with shopping centres, many of them away from the city centre like Porte di Roma, or you can opt for La Rinascente on Via del Tritone, which houses all Italian and international fashion on 6 floors.

Rome at the table

Rome at the table is all to be enjoyed with its delicious dishes like the best carbonara, cacio e pepe, amatriciana, porchetta, and much more. Once you set foot in this city, you can't help but think of the "Roman classics."

Where to start, well dear guests, the first on the list, with almost 100 years of history, is right in front of us: Vecchia Roma, try the stringy amatriciana served in a pecorino cheese wheel; Da Danilo just ahead, Da Fortunata Tonnarello, Sora LELLA, Felice in Testaccio .........and then we could stay here talking for hours, but these are our favourites, tried and absolutely recommended.
